Singapore Airlines Baggage Allowance

Like all other airlines Singapore baggage allowance is also fixed and exceeding weight can bring troubles to you. Like international standards;  Singapore baggage allowance is enforced by the Singapore Airlines and are applied on two types of baggage; i.e. Carry-on baggage and checked baggage. The weight of these baggages differs as per class. In other words first class baggage allowance will be greater than business class baggage allowance and so on.


Carry-on baggage allowance brings 2 pieces which can have a collective weight of 66 pounds; the same is applied while traveling with business class facilities i.e. the collective weight of 2 pieces should not exceed 15 Kg or 66 pounds. The case is bit different with the passengers travelling in economy class. They are allowed to have one piece as carry-on which should not exceed 15 pounds or 7 Kg.

When it comes to checked baggage allowances, all flights allow First class passengers to have 88 pounds while business class passengers can bring 66 pounds and economy class passengers can have 50 pounds in their checked baggage allowance.

All the passengers exceeding weight limit mentioned above will have to pay fee as per applied by Singapore Airlines. This fee is applied per piece and can be changed when company or the government feels a need of.

Singapore baggage allowance is a way to ensure that every passenger is carrying a specified weight. Though mostly checked baggage arrive with the arrival of the passengers in their flights, however if any of the passenger claims for his baggage to be mishandled, company does its best as per its policy to locate the lost items and return it to the possessor.
